Gotelee Solicitors is a dynamic and creative law firm that has successfully expanded its practice. A key business strategy is to develop the team of qualified solicitors by recruiting and training personable, enthusiastic, self-motivated individuals who can help to drive our business into the future.
What we offer
Normally one training contract is offered each year to a graduate with the right skills and personality.
We take our training role very seriously. As a trainee solicitor at Gotelee you will be part of a supportive team right from your first induction day and receive quality training and support throughout the training contract.
How is the training structured?
You will have a pre-planned programme consisting of 4 training seats, each of 5 months duration. You will then be given the opportunity to extend one of these seats by a further 4 months leading up to the end of the 2 year contract. Subject to the needs of the firm and the opportunities available, trainees are encouraged to extend the seat in the area they are most interested in following as a career.
During your training contract you will have the opportunity to work in 4 areas of practice chosen from the following:
- Business Law
- Private Client
During each seat you will work alongside a Partner or solicitor in the team and you will be assigned a mentor with whom you will meet at regular intervals throughout your training to discuss your progress.
You would attend the Professional Skills Course (funded by the Firm); in addition we hold regular legal skills and update training sessions and trainees are encouraged to attend such training in all practice areas. Trainees are also given the opportunity to attend appropriate external training seminars and courses.
